Kershaw Blur: Beautiful Collectible, EDC, or Tactical

As far as enjoyment goes, it’s hard to beat the Kershaw Blur. For the regular 13C26 steel versions, about $50 to $60 buys you a lot of knife enjoyment. This Ken Onion design has beautiful execution and quality throughout this assisted opening design. Perhaps some downsides might be the past choice of 440A steel (sadly, most my versions), the thin liner lock, and the wider blade that makes precise EDC cutting tasks more difficult. But the Kershaw brings mostly good news to our table …

I have both the knife in the video in 13C26 with the sandpaper grips and a Black tanto blur with the tractec inserts.

AWESOME KNIFE!!!
I have never had either fail.

Very nice knife!!!:)

I got the all black one–although I recently saw the rescue blur which has the window puncher, but I love the knife!

i know! the thumb ramp is really what made me so drawn to this particular kershaw

i know it seems somewhat minor, but i just looovvve it

A thin liner is undesirable not only because it might be weaker, but also because it can be forced to the side more easily. It is mostly a theoretical problem though, it would require an amount of force one should not use with a folder.

what is better this or ontario rat 1 or kabar dozier?

call kershaw and have them send you a new torsion bar. they will for free

it’s covered under the warranty and any manmade device can break…email them and they might even cover shipping back to them.

that sucks, mine is still going strong after almost a year of pretty tough use. it has been dropped multiple times too. I switched to the skyline, the pocket clip messed up and then went back to the blur.

the thumb ramp grabs the heck out of your thumb! mine weighs 3.7 ounces. wow I really like the blue one and the red one!

I’ve carried the Blur everyday for 2 years. Dependable.

I had a bad experience with this knife, after only about 2 months of moderate use the torsion bar broke in the assisted opening mechanism.

correction: Orange County Choppers. I ain’t that dumb. Also, aside from Nutn’s exclnt reviews, be sure to look at each manufacturer’s website offerings. Nutn doesn’t cover them all, by any means, and I found models on Benchmade, SOG, and Kershaw sites he hasn’t mentioned, yet meet his EDC requirements. Gotta love the Nut! Rock on, dude!

Also, see the Orange Country Choppers version of the Blur. It’s on Kershaw’s main website. I laughed at the OC labeling at first, but it is awfully cool looking, regardless of what you think of the show. Same exact weight and features, just with a grippable spiderweb design on the handle…

…let me clean the dust out of here…

What is this guy? Dwight Shrute?

nutnfancy is the shit

LOL, it took until 8:48 for you to recognize the clip problem, and then you flubbed it. Good reviews in general, but you dropped the ball on the clip.

You missed a big hit against this knife. The pocket clip is okay to wear on the belt, blade down, but you still have to rotate it if it is in the pocket, clip out, blade down.

Awesome knife – made in America – why would buy a China-made knife when this is a few dollars more?? Honor American craftsmanship. We do it best!
PS- I bought a Kershaw Skyline b/c it’s so darn light – based on Nutn’s review.

Feels great in the hand, easy or easier to deploy that many automatic knifes. Little pressure needed to deploy it and it is fast as you can see.

I have the all black one with the Tanto blade and I love it. I’ve carried it for years and have no problems. I own many knives but I always reach for that one over the rest.

i had one that i had one for a couple of years until my brother in law broke the tip prying against some ceramic tile. i didn’t mind so much. it was an excuse to pick up the S30V model =)

i have this knife and very pleased ith it i carry it everyday

Wal-mart usually has one in store…easy return if you don’t like it
