How can a private citizen sell old (collectible) alcohol?

My grandparents have the whole area under a kitchen island full of alcohol they’ve received as gifts. Much of it is decades old and in interesting, collectible bottles. Is there any legal way for them to sell it to somebody, maybe a collector or reseller, without needing an alcohol license? They don’t drink and don’t need it but they do need the space. If they could make a little money and avoid arrest while getting a free cupboard or two that would be great!

As long as it is still sealed try ebay or some collector’s site. Some old bottles of Scotch, etc, may be worth several times their original cost; it’s basically the same stuff that firms like Johnny Walker and such put a small reserve of into thirty year old cellars for later sale- some of it may be specially blended for the purpose though. Just google premium Whiskey or something A lot of spirits improve with age.—–Oh, I’m assuming that since you want to get rid of it that you won’t sell it to the age-impaired-it would be kind of a waste anyway, no appreciation of a potentially fine spirit.
Maybe you can work a deal with a local liquor store to buy up your lot of liquor and have them sell it. Maybe they can even work a consignment deal where they get a portion of the sales for every bottle sold using their store and liquor license. Im not sure if its legal but they would be the folks I talk to to see who to talk to and what you can do with it.
There is no law against it. They are not manufacturers, they are not in business. They are selling collectables. But if I were them, I wouldnt sell it to a minor. I know many will disagree with me but I say this.
Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution, clearly outlines what the Legislature is allowed to make and pass laws of. No where does it say Congress ‘authority’ to pass a law on how people use or restrict use of, sell, etc. of private property. Its theirs. No question about it. Its private property.
Just sell it, and be quiet about it so some government jerk who wants to justify his job and make a name for himself tries to steal your grandparents money in legal fees, so his coworkers/government employees can make some money.
Put an ad in your local paper. Just make sure to check ID cards before you sell it. If a person under the legal drinking age gets it and gets caught with it you will be in trouble.
