any ideas on what to get a boy for beginning a collectible collection?
my dad used to get my cousins collectible cars that they never opened and hence, remain collectible. girls are easy with barbies and dolls…but i don’t know about boys.

this seems to be two different questions; first the best way to start a collection for someone else is to provide the tools needed (like for comic books it would be plastic sleeve covers or for model ships that come with their own storage boxes), and then give them only a few items. their interest should be piqued to the point of wanting to collect more on their own. and to the second part; the best way to get a collectible to stay a collectible is to buy two of the same thing. that way one can be touched and handled, while having the other safely sealed in it’s original packaging.
